Family News
With our first child on the way in May, I've decided that it was time to start a new blog - like I needed something else to do...right. Actually, this blog will be dedicated to Family News. Thus the title "OikosAngello" - the Greek words for family and news.
Check it out for updates, pics, and simple thoughts on our sacramental life together in this particular household.
Fides will continue to be dedicated to deeper thoughts on faith seeking understanding.
I haven't posted a video before...but this one is pretty funny. If you have any good "left behind" stories I'd love to hear them.

When I was a kid the "Thief in the Night" stuff was huge. Also, Hal Lindsy's stuff was big. One night I went to bed and was awakened to the Bill Gaither Trio singing, "The King is Coming." Somehow, our old record player and dropped the record and it began to play in the middle of the night. If you have never awakened to, "The market place is empty, there's no traffic in the streets..." you've never been truly scared.
Thanks, Monty, my experience was going to one of those dramatized "Hell Houses" at the Assembly church in my home town as an adolescent. They really did try to scare the hell out of you...I had trouble sleeping for a few nights, but eventually went back to being my hellish self. That's why, at least for me, fear isn't an appropriate motivation for beginning or sustaining any relationship - faith, trust, love those are a bit better building blocks, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing the story - I can imagine that that was a fun night. I wonder if the Lord gets a chuckle out of us in such instances.
